Mayor Sean Mayefskie

Incumbent Candidate for Holly Springs

Mayor

Sean Mayefskie was inaugurated as Mayor of Holly Springs in 2021, bringing with him a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility, public safety, and maintaining the town’s small-town charm while supporting responsible growth. A longtime resident, Sean and his wife, Patricia, moved to Holly Springs in 1999, where they raised their three children

A successful entrepreneur, Sean founded and grew GMA Supply before selling it in 2019. His business background has shaped his approach to leadership— ensuring smart investments, keeping taxes low, and supporting a thriving local economy. Under his leadership, Holly Springs earned a AAA credit rating, a testament to the town’s strong financial management.

Sean has been an engaged and accessible leader, prioritizing community involvement. Since taking office, he has never missed a council or workshop meeting in his 3.5 years of service. In 2023, he launched the quarterly “Mayor’s Chat,” where residents can engage directly with town leaders on important issues. He was also nominated as the Wake County Mayors Association President for 2024-2025, strengthening collaboration between local leaders across the region.

Investing in Holly Springs’ future has been a key focus of his administration. In 2022, he founded the first-ever Entrepreneurs Club at Holly Springs High School, providing students with hands-on experience in business and leadership. The club has grown to over 30 students, meeting regularly throughout the school year.

Under his leadership, Holly Springs has achieved several major milestones, including: Economic Expansion & Job Growth: Successfully secured Amgen’s $1 billion expansion, bringing 370 high-quality jobs to Holly Springs and further establishing the town as a leader in biotech and life sciences.

Infrastructure Improvements: Spearheaded critical projects, including the Sanford Water Filtration Facility expansion and major transportation enhancements such as the widening of Holly Springs Road and the expansion of Avent Ferry Road from Ralph Stephens Road to Cass Holt Road to accommodate residential and business growth.

Public Safety Enhancements: Opened Fire Station 3 to improve emergency response times in the growing northwest region of town.

Commitment to Parks & Recreation: Expanded green spaces and recreational opportunities with projects like the Middle Creek Greenway and Eagles Landing Park.

Holly Springs was also honored with the “Leading the Way Award,” a national recognition for excellence in local government services. Community survey results ranked the town in the top 10% nationwide in three key areas:

  • Satisfaction with the overall quality of town services

  • Value received for local taxes and fees

  • Customer service provided by employees

Beyond his role as Mayor, Sean has long been involved in charitable and community efforts. He previously served on the Holly Springs Chamber Board, helped launch the Triangle Y Soccer Club, and has supported organizations such as the Holly Springs Food Cupboard and Meg’s Smile Foundation.

Sean remains committed to ensuring Holly Springs continues to be a wonderful place for families.
